
Charles Handy remains one of my all-time favourite business thinkers. I have all his books, have had the pleasure of talking with him over dinner, and his gentle but incisive provocations stay with me.
He was talking about “Shamrock” organisations and portfolio careers long before they entered the mainstream. There’s a link at the end of this post to an LBS article from 2001 that suggests we had accepted the idea at that time. Looking back, I think we were nowhere close.
